Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) Contributes $25,000 to support flood victims in Volta region

The members of the Council of Ewe Association of North America (CEANA) fraternity, have contributed $25,000 (equivalent to GHC 280,000) to help buy relief items for victims of the Akosombo and Kpong Dam Spillage.

The CEANA fraternity after hearing the sad news of their fellow countrymen, have decided to contribute the amount to help support the victims who suffered in the Spillage some weeks ago.

This contribution was made by the CEANA fraternity on the back of the annual celebration of the Thanksgiving Day that is being marked in the United State of America and Canada.

The Thanksgiving in the USA, marks an age-old American tradition when friends and family gather to celebrate and give thanks for various reasons for which they are most grateful which is always marked as a national holiday.

This Thanksgiving is celebrated on every 4th Thursday of November each year after its inception back in 1621 to mark the a successful Harvest in the USA.

Speaking to the media, the President of the Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA), Dr. Tsatsu E. Nyamadi expressed satisfaction and enthusiasm about that support received from the entire Members of the association.

He noted that, they believe this year’s Thanksgiving is an opportunity for them to support their brothers and sisters in Ghana who suffered from the recent flooding from the Akosombo and Kpong Dams Spillage that wiped away their home which promote them to do such contribution.

Dr Tsatsu E. Nyamadi in appreciating the members said, ” the executives of CEANA are most grateful for your continued support over the years and most especially, your support at the just ended CEANA convention held in Atlanta, GA”.

He therefore wished all members of the association a Happy Thanksgiving and urged them to stay safe and ensure incident free celebration.
