CEANA Delegation Led By Dr. Tsatsu Nyamadi Made A Historic Trip to Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria

A delegation led by Dr. Tsatsu Nyamadi, President, alongside prominent members of the Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) embarked on a mission to mark significant milestones and foster cross-border collaborations. This journey spanned Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria.

The journey commenced on February 23, 2024, with the primary objective of commissioning and delivering a three-classroom block with an office building constructed by the Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) in Peki-Dzake, Ghana. This initiative aimed to enhance educational infrastructure in the region.
Following the successful commissioning, the delegation proceeded to inspect proposed locations for a kindergarten building in Dodome-Awuiasu and Kpalima, Togo. The delegation, accompanied by local officials and media personnel, assessed the sites and discussed further plans for development.
Additionally, invitations from Ewe Indigenes in Nigeria and the Agbesinyala group in Benin prompted CEANA’s participation in the inaugural Ewe National Day in Nigeria and the 65th Anniversary celebration of Agbesinyala.

 

The delegation, comprising esteemed individuals including Mr. Steve Dei, Dr. Peter Nat. Abotchie, and Mr. William Kumah, Mr. Kosi Nutekpor, Torgbui Agbelorm Agbotokor II, among others, embarked on a journey across borders, fostering cultural exchanges and strengthening ties between Ewe communities.
In Nigeria, the delegation witnessed the vibrant celebrations of the 1st Ewe Indigenes of Nigeria National Day, commemorating the rich history and heritage of the Ewe people in the region. Dr. Nyamadi conveyed gratitude on behalf of CEANA and emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration for community development.
In Benin, the delegation extended support to the Agbesinyala group, highlighting CEANA’s commitment to fostering development and cultural preservation across Ewe communities. Generous donations and speeches underscored the solidarity and shared aspirations among Ewe diaspora groups.
